Paramedic Satellite Program to Begin at Osage Ambulance District
Osage Ambulance District (OAD) is excited to announce a five-year agreement has been signed with the University of Missouri Extension’s EMS Education Institute to establish a paramedic satellite program at the OAD Training Center in Linn, Missouri. The University of Missouri has a well-established and recognized presence not just in healthcare but also in EMS Education within the Central Region, with a paramedic program in Columbia and a like satellite program with Marion-Ralls County Ambulance District in Hannibal, Missouri.
Our mission is to provide high-quality education to the region and help provide a career pathway for EMT’s in the area wishing to further their education. The MU Extension EMS Education Institute is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Programs (CAAHEP) and the committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP).
The first paramedic program is scheduled to begin in September 2023 and will run for 53 weeks. EMT’s interested in taking the course may apply online on the University EMS Education website. A special thank you to Clinical Manager of Prehospital Services Chuck Doss and EMS Education Coordinator Jessica Kampeter with University Hospital for helping make this program possible.
