At Osage Ambulance District, we are committed to redefining healthcare delivery through innovative approaches that prioritize the well-being of our community. Our Mobile Integrated Healthcare (MIH) and Community Paramedicine programs represent a significant step forward in providing comprehensive and personalized healthcare services beyond traditional emergency response.

What is Mobile Integrated Healthcare (MIH)?
MIH is a proactive and patient-centered approach to healthcare that focuses on delivering services directly to individuals in their homes and communities. Our highly skilled healthcare professionals, including paramedics and community paramedics, work collaboratively to provide preventive care, manage chronic conditions, and address the unique healthcare needs of each individual.

 Key Components of MIH:

  •  Preventive Care Visits: Our team conducts regular preventive care visits to assess and address potential health risks, helping individuals stay ahead of health issues.
  • Chronic Disease Management: We specialize in managing chronic conditions through regular monitoring, medication management, and lifestyle support to improve overall health outcomes.
  • Mental Health Support: Recognizing the importance of mental health, our program includes dedicated resources and support for individuals facing mental health challenges.
  • Community Health Education: We believe in empowering our community with knowledge. Our team provides education on various health topics to promote informed decision-making and healthier lifestyles.

Community Paramedicine: Bridging Gaps in Healthcare

Our Community Paramedicine program complements MIH by expanding the role of paramedics beyond emergency response. Community paramedics serve as liaisons between healthcare providers, social services, and the community, ensuring a holistic and coordinated approach to healthcare.

Key Features of Community Paramedicine:

  • Home Visits: Community paramedics conduct home visits to assess living conditions, provide education, and address environmental factors that may impact health.
  • Medication Management: Ensuring individuals understand and adhere to their medication plans is a crucial aspect of our program, contributing to better health outcomes.
  • Social Services Integration: We collaborate with social services to connect individuals with resources such as housing assistance, transportation, and community support, addressing social determinants of health.
