Special Medical Needs

If you or a family member has a special medical condition that paramedics and first responders should be aware of then you are a candidate to be entered into the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system.  This allows Osage County Communications to enter your medical information into their data base which corresponds with your address / home phone number.  In the event you call 911, this information would appear on the dispatchers computer screen, alerting paramedics to this vital information. For more information call 573-897-0044.

Base Tours

Does your scout group, pre-school, or church group want to set up a tour of an ambulance base.  EMS personnel will show and demonstrate equipment, provide age appropriate information to each group (i.e. how 911 works, when to call, basic 1st aid, etc).  To set up a base tour call 573-897-0044.

Remember, we are subject to an emergency call at any time.  There are instances when a tour is scheduled and the crew must respond immediately.  Upon Scheduling your tour you will be given the phone number of the base to call just prior to your visit to ensure the crew is in quarters.

Tours are available 7 days a week between 10:00 am - 7:00 pm.

C.P.R. Classes

The Ambulance District can provide CPR classes to groups with at least five (5) participants  (i.e. scouts, neighborhood watch groups, seniors, etc.)  To schedule a class contact Joshua Krull at  573-897-0044 or by e-mail oadtraining@socket.net.

Senior Safety Program

What is the most dangerous room in the home?  The bathroom accounts for 62% of all injuries to seniors.  This program provides seniors with some preventive maintenance suggestions for creating a safer living environment.  Suggestions for enhancing lighting, installing handrails, securing throw rugs, and many more.

EMS Life Watch

This program works in conjunction with area police agencies Neighborhood Watch Programs.  The Ambulance District will send a speaker to your neighborhood activity and provide you with information about the district as well as making you aware of what programs are available to the citizens.
